Amazing place to check out. We order chicken pad that- a little watery than we are used to but still tasted great, sex on the moon- wow amazingly good, crunch roll- deep fried and crunchy, Goyza and spring rolls for the kids- they liked it. Their miso soup was really good too! Service was very nice. Place was clean. Overall great place for dinner. Thank you yelp for the free appetizer for checking in!

I always have a good meal here when it comes to Sushi. I really like the volcano roll! There spider roll is good too! They're curry and noodle dishes are mediocre compared to other restaurants I have had though. My biggest issue is their dishonesty with all of you and myself. Numerous times now I have eaten there and on my bill they always charge me more than what the menu states. I always get the volcano roll for $13 on the menu. However I have eaten there over a dozen times in a few months and they always put $15 on the check. The first few times I did not catch on and paid, however the last few times I told them and they lowered the price to $13. Their excuse was they have an upcoming new menu that will be out in a month, so they are charging me the soon-to-be new menu price. But this new menu was supposed to come out technically two months ago. So they are full of it. Tonight I had a spider roll for $14 on the menu. I got the bill and it said $15. Obviously they are doing this not just to me but I'm sure they are doing this to a lot of you. One or two dollars extra might not sound like a lot, however if they are doing this to everybody when it comes to sushi and possibly other meals they might be conning hundreds of people this year possibly longer. There are other issues as well, like getting our orders wrong tonight and not wanting to address the issue, while making rude remarks by our female waitress was uncalled for. It left a sour taste in our mouth's. We were celebrating a birthday and had six people there. I am one of their best customers and only come back because I love the volcano roll. However I'm not sure I'm coming back anymore. :(

My husband and I wanted to take my mom out for dinner; my mom loves Thai Food. This place was recommend by her customers so we decided to give it a try. The outside is very nice, but when I walked into the restaurant -- it was very run down. I order a volcano roll and KC roll. My mother order the panang chicken, and my husband ordered the pad thai. My KC roll was the first to come out, the sauce that it was in -- it was just vinegar and soy sauce. The cucumber was very soft so whenever i pick it up -- it would fall apart. My husband had the Thai peanut dressing salad with his dinner, the dressing was so sweet. My mom got the ginger dressing salad -- it was so sweet in flavor as well. No ginger flavor or peanut flavor in these dressing. It was mainly sweet. I also ordered the Thai Iced Coffee, it look like it would be very good, but when I drank it -- I felt like I was drinking sugar water. The next dishes that came out was my mom's curry chicken; the flavor was again, sweet, super sweet! the curry itself was not bad, the chicken was way over cooked -- it tasted like rubber. My volcano came out, and the top was pretty much burnt. When I try to grab a piece, the whole top would stay together because it was WAY OVER COOKED!! The salmon was so dry, so as the top of my volcano start falling apart, I had to grab the pieces of my topping on the plate, so realistic I was only eating a regular california roll with a side of salmon. My husband pad thai noodle was so over cooked that you're only eating small pieces of noodle that look like rice grain. I just wished they didn't have to over cooked everything. Service was only okay because servers were too busy talking to their "regulars" in the back of the restaurant, so I felt that if i wasn't a regular. I wouldn't get the same service. Felt a little bit ignored, and so as the two other tables that was in the front.

After 12 years I have finally found a restaurant that makes pad see ew like home. Their Tom Ka soup is a must try as well. Yes the decor is a bit boring but the food more than makes up for it. This is sure to be a regular stop for me!

My sisters and I tried Payathai because it's near the Swap Shop Drive-In Movie Theatre and we needed a quick take-out dinner. I was trying to introduce my 14-year old sister to sushi and Asian cuisine. I think this place did an ok job. The sushi was great, a bit pricey, but tasty. However, the pad thai was bland. I would consider ordering from them again if in the area - it was fast and decent Asian fix.

The food is 3+ stars (some dishes deliver, some fall flat - e.g. Pad Thai), the decor 1 star and the service -1 star (I think anyone who has been here knows WHO I'm talking about). Based on the food alone, I have to recommend this place. Get a to-go menu. I now get delivery/takeout and all is well.

I come here frequently, because really, in this area, there aren't many Thai places to choose from that are good and affordable. I am a Thai food junkie. I love the complex flavors of their dishes. The staple Pad Thai is good. Not the best I ever had, but still delicious enough for me to order it frequently. The Mongolian Beef stew is also excellent, as are the curries. I actually haven't ordered the Japanese food here yet. To me it's just a Thai place. Service is fine, gets better once they remember you and open up a little, which I find happens with most asian places.

Short review: delicious thai food, AND delicious, good quality sushi. If on the fence about going, do go. Would highly recommend. atmosphere was O-K. Typical asian restaurant vibe. nothing spectacular. Detailed review: we had the papaya salad, super spicy tuna roll, salmon roll and drunken noodles with shrimp. I asked for hot tea, noticed that they charged $1.50 for it. Not a big deal, I didn't really care, but some people get pissed when they're charged for tea at an asian restaurant. Papaya salad was excellent. We asked for 4 out of 5 "star" (their spiciness rating system), and it was hot. And I sometimes think jalapeno's aren't that hot. We didn't want to get 5 out of 5 because we were afraid that might be stupid hot. It was nice and crunchy and sweet and tart and had a generous amount of peanuts (ground and whole) sprinkled on top. I hate it when ppl skimp on the peanuts. I didn't see any chopped up thai peppers in the salad, but like I said, it was plenty hot. They took their time getting us glasses of water, which I thought was kinda amusing, because the waiter came by to ask us if it was too hot between our 2nd and 3rd request for water. He did finally give us water, albeit after the 3rd request. The drunken noodles came next (waiter asked if that was OK, that the noodles come out before the rolls). We also went for 4 out of 5 for the drunken noodles. Again, nice and spicy, but not stupid hot to the point where we couldn't taste or feel our mouths. we got it with the shrimp and they were very generous with the shrimp. nice plump big shrimp, not the little puny stuff that you find in take out fried rice. they were also generous with the basil, but I love basil, so I loved it. The salmon roll was salmon roll- simple but good. I wish they had a little more fish than rice, but then again, I'm extraordinarily picky about my sushi/rolls. I like to have at least a 3:2 ratio of fish to rice. but they did alright, even for my high standards. The super spicy tuna roll was delish. It was NOT super spicy, but it DID have double tuna. It was a spicy tuna roll with an extra piece of tuna on top. The tuna on top was a gorgeous pink and melt in your mouth good. really, really good. Again, wish the fish was a bit thicker, but that's just me and my high expectations. They offered mango with hot sweet sticky rice for dessert, which I'm sure was good, but we declined, since we had other plans for dessert. all in all, definitely a great authentic thai place that isn't afraid to get spicy. Sushi was great, even for someone who's pretty hard to please in that dept.

It's cheaper than most other Thai/sushi places. They fall into the same trap where the sushi rolls seem oversized and the curry puffs are just so darn A-OK. The setting is ultra casual so it's not ideal for a date. This is basically where you go to get a decent, filing dinner before playing pool next door. I liked it, kinda.

Should be no stars. I called after a delivery order because the fish was clearly rotten in our roll and the girl told me oh well. She said I checked the fish, which not sure how she could of cause she didn't even know what I ordered, and was basically like too bad so sad. We paid $42 for sushi we couldn't eat and they could care less. Terrible place do not order from here.

Very good service and food was great. All of our orders were complicated due to food allergies and they handled all very well. Would definitely return. Enjoyed shrimp dumplings, red curry with shrimp, pad thai, thai basil tofu, and lad nar with tofu.

I've eaten from here twice, both times as to go orders and have been very satisfied with my choices: spicy tuna roll and jb hand roll. In addition to being clean and full of variety, the customer service is excellent. Prices are good.

Decent food but not exactly mindblowing. Had shrimp pad thai, beef pad woon sen, a california roll, and chicken and beef skewers. Liked the texture of the pad thai noodles, disliked the overuse of fish sauce. The beef in the pad woon sen didn't seem fresh--it wasn't bad or anything, but it was reminiscent of beef that you freeze for quite a while before taking it out to cook. The food was does its job--it comes out warm, fills you up, gives you a bit on the side to take home for later. Given the shortage of good Asian restaurants in my area, I would say having this place around is a nice way to satisfy the occasional craving. However, hailing from a city where authentic Asian food of all kinds was the norm, I found the flavors of this restaurant mediocre at best. I'm not trying to be negative. Perhaps I'm just spoiled when it comes to cultural cuisines. We were only offered the lunch menu when I went, but perhaps my opinion may have been different if I tried other menu items that some of the other Yelpers are mentioning here.

I have to say it wasn't bad. I was a little apprehensive, as the Thai sushi phenomena was something we encountered for the first time when we moved out to Florida. Sushi and Thai food have nothing to do with each other and several of the places we've been to so far didn't do a very good job at either. But for a relatively moderately priced lunch place, this wasn't bad. My wife had red curry, and I had a sashimi bento box.

Thanks Yelp for helping me find another hidden gem! I had wanted to try Payathai for a few months and when I saw a deal on Living Social I scoped it up. Payathai is located in a little hub of a pretty ancient strip mall. I would have never found it just driving around town. The decor in the restaurant is pretty ancient as well but every thing was extremely clean and that's more important to me. Dishes ordered: Curry Puffs..... They were very pretty but lacked curry flavor. Fried Thai Dumplings.... Those were really good and fried to an amaziling perfect crunch. Spicy Tuna and Avocado roll.... A-ok Rock and Roll..... Very good definitely my favorite item of the night. House Fried Rice.... Again just ok but way better then any kind of delivery I've ever had. For $18.00 I don't think we would order it again though. Our waitress was very nice but not so attentive. She was the only one serving the entire restaurant so it was had to get her attention. I think if they had another server working I would have given them another star. One thing they do well is the detail and presentation in the sushi rolls. The entire plate was very beautiful. I saw the sushi chef creating a Red Dragon roll and it looked so gorgeous. I will have to try that next time. Quiet date night spot and besides the rice I think everything else was priced fair.

Above average Thai cuisine, but probably best for takeout. The ambiance of the restaurant area is poor, with uncomfortable seating and bad music playing. Again, the food is ok but I'd take it home rather than eat there!

Really dirty place and cold food. OK for one time only. Don't know why other comments are talking so good about this place. Bathroom was nasty and the waitress smelled like cigarettes... Will never come back again.

It was our first time going there everything was going good ordered rolls and a soup. Until my meal came it had an odor to it and I kindly was trying to tell the waiter that I could not eat it because of the smell and she was okay about it and ask me what else I would like to order something else on the menu . the owner or manager then spoke with our server to see what the problem was. The owner or manager came to me and said the meal was already cooked what are we going to do with your food then and I looked at her so puzzled and confused. She did not want me to order something else and was mad and walked away telling me I shouldn't of picked it then. Worst service ever!! She then was talking g loudly on the phone with food inspector about the last visit .. That's something to think about. The server was great wasn't her fault

What a great meal! I was happy to unlock a free appetizer when I checked in at the restaurant. It's a small mom and pop restaurant at a strip mall at the corner of Lantana and Congress. It seemed like they have a lot of regulars picking up orders. We started off with the curry puffs and chicken satay which came with 3 different dipping sauces which were all really good. Then the salad with peanut dressing and miso soup came out next. For entrees we had the chicken Thai basil which we asked them to make extra extra spicy which they did. It was really good and almost Korean food spicy. We also had the red curry extra spicy which was my favorite. The boyfriend liked the chicken Thai basil better. Our son had the hot and sour seafood noodle soup. He thought it was ok but he did fish out and eat all the seafood in the dish. For dessert we had the tempura ice cream. Warm on the outside and cold in the inside. Perfect! The food came out fast and service was great! I saw some sushi dishes being served and they looked great too. Next time i'll try some sushi too. Great food, great service, I'll definitely be back!

Customer Service is DISGUSTING!!! The first time I had the food, the company ordered and the rice was disgusting. You could taste that it was rice that had been refrigerated and microwaved and the chicken was cold. When I called to complain they promised to credit me the full amount for the next time I ordered. Today I decided to give them another try, the manager (who approved the credit) said she has no record of that and told me I should expect my food to be cold if its gonna be delivered. She argued with me for about 5 minutes asking if I want her to go broke by giving out free food. Then when asked for my card information they told me to hurry up because he's very busy and don't have much time. SAVE YOURSELF FROM MEDIOCRE FOOD and HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service. Their food is not worth their nasty attitudes.

Thai and sushi?! Not a common pairing in NYC or Cali but it seems like a common occurrence in FL. I like the small family run feel of the restaurant and our waiter was very sweet. The service was slow considering they weren't very busy. The prices are much higher than what I'm used to in NYC or CA for such a casual Thai or sushi restaurant. I liked the jasmine tea. My avocado rolls were average. I got the Drunken Noodles (Pad Kee Mao) which were just ok. They used thinner long rice noodles, the kind more often used in Pad Thai, rather than the thick short flat noodles I'm accustomed too. I like the thick noodles a lot better in this dish because of the texture and how they absorb flavored and get the smoky wok flavor. Their noodles were a bit bland and disappointing. The flavors in the sauce were good, but it lacked any spice! This is supposed to be a spicy dish, I had to add hot sauce! My bf, Brian, got the Spider roll and a spicy tuna hand roll. He seemed to like both. Yelp advertises a free app with checkin but they didn't let us choose and just gave us spring rolls which were average.

Payathai has lived up to the hype! I was encouraged to see that the place was pretty busy for a Sunday. I'm not sure if they take reservations. The seating area is a little cozy, so if it's busy, I'd prepare for a short wait. We ordered a large miso soup ($4) - delicious with extra scallion. The firecracker roll (tuna, tempura, asparagus, tobiko, $11) is one that I would definitely have again. Highly recommend it! Their drunken noodles ($12) were quite yummy as well - very stick to your bones kinda food. The fried tofu was a perfect addition. What's nice is they allow you to adjust the spice level and you have have extra spice on the side if necessary. Service was friendly, attentive. A nice experience overall.

I wanted to try Payathai mainly because I wanted to compare it to Rice, my favorite Thai place in Boynton Beach, and the reviews looked promising. We went on a Saturday night and it was packed. We took the one remaining free table next to the sushi bar. The place was bustling and the crowd was mostly older. We ordered the vegetable spring rolls, the green curry with shrimp and the sweet and sour chicken, Chinese style, both with brown rice (they offer it both Chinese or Thai style, breaded or sauteed). Our entrees came with soup or salad. My friend got the salad with ginger dressing and I got the miso soup. The waitress asked if I wanted my curry spicy and I said please no, no spice. The soup and salad were pretty standard. We had just begun to eat these items when our entrees arrived. And they totally forgot the spring rolls, which I reminded them of and which they brought out 15 minutes after our entrees were served. The sweet and sour chicken was a huge portion and pretty good. My green curry was tasty and the sauce was spot on but it was marred by too much spice. Which made it all the more unfortunate that my water glass was never refilled. And the vegetable spring rolls were hot and crispy but tasteless, filled with cabbage and not much else. I came home very thirsty and couldn't stop drinking water. Not sure if I'll be back at this point.

Stopped in on a Monday night for a quick bite. Very Friendly staff all greeted us as we went to sit down. I ordered the "drunken noodles" with fried Tofu...which we call Pad Kee Mao at my usual Thai place up north. My wife had the chicken and Shrimp Pad Thai. My dish was flavorful, but could have used a bit more heat. The Pad Thai was very flavorful and the chicken and shrimp were cooked just right. The dinning room is nothing to rave about...sort of a utilitarian, run of the mill spot... I would definitely eat here again and would like to try some of the sushi and get it all to go.

We went to Payathai for our daughter's birthday dinner and could not have been more pleasantly surprised! When we walked in, it seemed very quiet (ruh roh) but immediately friendly. We were seated, given a moment to look at the menu and then approached for drink orders. The server asked what order we wanted our selections to arrive in, and was extremely accommodating. When the food arrived, it was not only gorgeous, but tasty. Our son doesn't eat much more than pizza, but the chicken katsu was a delicious alternative to chicken nuggets and the portion was HUGE. The sushi deluxe platter was stunning and we absolutely cleaned the plate. We also ordered the pad thai, but we had to bring most of it home because we were too full to finish. We will definitely be back to this wonderful hidden spot!

We had take-out there last night on a Friday night. The place was packed. I had to wait a 10 minutes for my order even though I arrive at the time I was told it will be ready. The hold up seemed to be the item from the sushi chefs. Not a big deal, but I thought I'd mention it. I watched the sushi chef making several order of the sex on the moon rolls and they looked to be quite the sushi roll. I will definitely try these next time. We had the spring rolls with chicken, the pork laab, the House Panang, Tom Kha soup with shrimp and the spicy tuna salad. We asked for everything seasoned to 3 1/2 stars out of 5. They were sufficiently spicy, but we like a fair amount of heat. All were good, but the stand outs were the Tom Kha and the spicy tuna salad. The Thom Ka I would give a 9 and the spicy tuna was a 10+. The tuna was very fresh, and the spicy tuna sauce was out of this world. We will be back for sure. I should also mention that we used a $40 LivingSocial coupon which they accepted very matter-of-factly. Some places have treated us like 2nd class citizens when we use groupons or livingsocials. Not here.

Amazed this place has such a high rating. Maybe we came on an off night, but we've been here twice, and both times it was sub-average. Last night we ordered takeout - veggie pad thai and spring rolls. The spring rolls were so bad. They looked almost burnt somehow, and spongy. I wouldn't even take a second bite. The pad thai was not even average. Greasy and hardly a vegetable to be found. Just didn't taste right. I'm not the type to complain, but this place is rated so highly on yelp, I expected it to be good. Will not return.

Great authentic Thai food. Reasonable prices. Takes all major CC but prefers cash. Never had anything bad on the menu. Love the beef noodle soup, green papaya salad, laab, and the spicy basil fried rice. Owners are a Thai and Japanese couple so for once the Thai food and sushi combo makes sense. Sushi is great but to be honest the Thai food is so good that I rarely get any sushi. My fiancee gets the jb roll all the time an d loves it

Visited Paya Thai for the first time last night. Had the Tom Kha soup (coconut based). It was outstanding. Had the Sweet Dream (grilled chicken breasts with encrusted peanuts and a peanut sauce. Tasted delicious. My wife had the shrimp stir fry. It was also delicious. Service was good. Only complaint was that waiter did not clear completed dishes.

Great food! Good service, too. Be warned that they are not playing around with the spice - 4/5 on the spicy scale was actually 4/5 - almost as hot it could be. Very tasty if you like spice, which I do.

My cousin and I went to Payathai on a Sunday evening since I had bought one of their Living Social vouchers. The reviews seemed good and I had never tried sushi before (my cousin had though), so I decided to try sushi for the first time at Payathai. When we arrived, the restaurant was empty (we got there just after 5 PM when they opened on Sundays), but about midway through our visit a group of about 4-5 adults arrived. We were seated immediately and we were given menus. They didn't have a kids menu for my cousin's daughter, so we got her some rice which we all shared since it was big. I ended up ordering Spicy Tuna rolls and Salmon rolls since I'm allergic to shellfish and I must say that sushi is better than I had expected. I was a bit worried about it tasting too strange and not liking it, but my cousin showed me how to eat it and we had a great time. She enjoyed her sushi too because she ate it all before I was halfway done. It is a tad pit pricey (even with my voucher), but I guess that's expected with specialty foods like sushi. My cousin and I agreed that we would return sometime in the future.

My boyfriend and I are thai food junkies. We eat it at least once a week. After moving to Lake Worth, we wanted to find a new go-to for our weekly take out dinners. We tried Payathai based on these reviews, but we were let down. The pad thai was bland and the spring rolls were basic. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing, but I think we'll continue looking for great thai food beyond Payathai.

I can't believe no one has reviewed Payathai on Yelp! This restaurant has been a mainstay in my household for over 2 years. This restaurant, not much bigger than a typical Starbucks is very quaint and the atmosphere is quiet relaxed. There isn't much décor on the wall but when does lack of décor say lack of flavor!? It's a fusion Japanese and Thai restaurant and they do it well because the owners are a married couple, Jimmy, who is Japanese and "momma," who is Thai. This is the only fusion restaurant that I've ever been to that has successfully served both Japanese and Thai. As soon as we walk in the door, our waiter greets us and brings over our usual drinks. I have a Thai Iced Tea which is always delicious and my fiancé has the hot sake. We generally will start with the spicy tuna roll or papaya salad. This is the only Thai restaurant in Palm Beach county that I have found that has papaya salad! It's the most amazing thing. Shredded papaya with tomato and spicy Thai peppers dressed with an amazing lime & fish sauce dressing, topped with crushed peanuts. Their best sushi roll is called "Sex on the Moon." It is a Shrimp tempura, eel, crab, cream cheese, asparagus, cucumber, avocado I/O with tuna, tempura crunch, scallion, flying fish roe, eel sauce, and spicy mayo on top -We usually order it without the cream cheese. I don't understand what cream cheese adds to sushi but to each his/her own. Now, the Thai food; there are so many amazing dishes to choose from. My top to dishes are the shrimp pad Thai or the Friendly Fish. The Friendly Fish is white fish -steamed or fried- on top of a bed of steamed vegetables covered in a chili sauce. It is AMAZING! Please do yourself a favor and check this place out!!

This place is mine and my wife's go to place for sushi. Jimmy creates beautiful creations that shows his care in quality. Their other menu items are at the top of their game also. For many years now one of our favorites.

I'm a huge Thai food junky and this place is my fav! Green chicken curry is my go to dish! Also really love the Curry noodle soup! Pad Thai is the best in the area! Definitely the best Thai place in Boynton!

Not here.
